Will servicing my car here void my warranty?

No! Federal law (Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act) protects your right to have your vehicle serviced wherever you choose. As long as proper maintenance is performed according to the manufacturer’s schedule, your factory warranty remains valid. We use OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) or equivalent quality parts, and we maintain detailed service records. We’ll even email you a copy of your service records to keep for warranty purposes.

Do you perform state inspections or emissions testing?

Michigan does not require periodic vehicle safety inspections or emissions testing for most passenger vehicles. However, we do offer comprehensive vehicle safety inspections if you’re buying or selling a vehicle, or if you just want peace of mind about your vehicle’s condition. Our 150-point inspection covers all major systems and only costs $149.95. If you need emissions testing for out-of-state registration, we can refer you to certified testing facilities.

Can you fix my check engine light?

Yes! Check engine light diagnosis is one of our specialties. We use professional-grade diagnostic scan tools that can read all vehicle systems and provide detailed fault codes. We don’t just clear the light – we diagnose the root cause and fix it properly. Our diagnostic fee is $89.95, which includes a comprehensive scan of all computer systems and a written report of what we find. This fee is waived if you proceed with recommended repairs. Common causes include oxygen sensors, catalytic converters, mass airflow sensors, and EVAP system issues.

Do you offer fleet services for businesses?

Yes! We service many local business fleets including delivery vehicles, service trucks, company cars, and more. We offer fleet pricing, priority scheduling, detailed service records for each vehicle, and invoicing options. We can also set up preventive maintenance schedules to keep your fleet running efficiently and minimize downtime. We service fleets from 3 vehicles to 50+ vehicles. What if I need parts that you don’t have in stock?

We maintain an extensive parts inventory for common repairs, but if we need a special part, we have relationships with multiple suppliers throughout Metro Detroit. In most cases, we can get parts same-day or next-day. For rare or specialty parts, it may take 2-3 business days. We’ll always let you know the timeline before starting work. We primarily use NAPA parts backed by their nationwide warranty, but we can also source OEM parts from dealerships when needed.

Can you work on modified or performance vehicles?

Yes! We have experience working on modified and performance vehicles including aftermarket turbo systems, superchargers, suspension modifications, performance exhaust, and ECU tuning. We can also perform routine maintenance and repairs on modified vehicles. However, we cannot perform emissions testing on vehicles with emissions equipment removed. If you have a custom or modified vehicle, call us to discuss your specific needs.

Do you rebuild engines or transmissions?

Yes, we perform both in-house engine rebuilds and transmission rebuilds. Engine rebuilds typically take 3-7 days depending on parts availability and the extent of work needed. We’ll provide a detailed estimate before beginning work. We also work with reputable remanufacturers if you prefer a factory-rebuilt unit. All engine and transmission work comes with our 24-month/24,000-mile warranty.

What should I do if my car breaks down?

If you’re broken down in the Metro Detroit area, call us at (313) 543-3737. We work with several local towing companies and can arrange towing to our shop. Towing costs vary by distance but typically range from $75-$150 within Metro Detroit. If you have AAA or other roadside assistance, you can have them tow your vehicle directly to our shop at 26612 7 Mile Road, Redford Township, MI 48240. We’ll diagnose the problem and get you back on the road as quickly as possible.

Do you work on classic or antique cars?

Yes! We love working on classic and antique vehicles. Our senior technicians have decades of experience with older vehicles and carbureted engines. We can perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, electrical work, brake service, and more. For specialty restoration work or hard-to-find parts, we work with several classic car specialists in the area. Call us to discuss your classic vehicle’s needs.

How often should I service my vehicle?

Most vehicles need an oil change every 5,000-7,500 miles (or every 6 months, whichever comes first). We recommend a comprehensive inspection every 10,000-15,000 miles. However, service intervals vary by vehicle, driving conditions, and manufacturer recommendations. When you bring your vehicle in, we’ll review your owner’s manual and create a custom maintenance schedule. We’ll also send you service reminders by email or text if you opt in.

Can you diagnose strange noises or smells?

Absolutely! Strange noises and smells are often early warning signs of problems. Common issues include: (1) Squealing noises – often brake wear indicators or belt problems, (2) Grinding noises – typically worn brakes or transmission issues, (3) Clicking noises – often CV joint problems, (4) Burning smell – could be clutch, brakes, or electrical issues, (5) Sweet smell – usually coolant leak, (6) Rotten egg smell – typically catalytic converter issues. Bring your vehicle in and our experienced technicians will diagnose the problem quickly.

If you have a written estimate from another licensed, insured repair facility for identical service using comparable parts, we’ll match or beat their price.
